Independence Foxhounds is looking for enthusiastic and experienced personnel to fill vacancies.Job descriptionYou would be required to help with daily operations of the kennels and horse facility. This involves caring and working with the hounds on a daily basis and assisting with rearing of puppies. You would work six days a week with one day off; although usually one working day is hunt day.
There are usually 8-10 horses on the premises. The horses are primarily used for hunting but some eventing is done in the spring and summer. Daily care of the horses and exercising and training is required. During the summer the horses are turned out day and night, but during the winter are in the stables at night. You would be required to assist with all aspects of the horse operation being responsible for their exercise, care and general well being. This includes feeding am and pm, exercise/training, health, vet visits etc. Keeping tack and tack room clean and ensuring everything is in order for hunt mornings. You will have a horse provided for every hunt. You would have your own small house with living room, bedroom, kitchen and full bath and the farm keeps a fleet of trucks on the property, so transportation is available.
